Turning a one-off job into a repeat customer
Every job you do is either building toward the next one or ending the moment you're paid. The difference is rarely about being the fastest or the cheapest — it's a few specific habits.
The job that gets remembered is the one that's finished properly
Leaving a tidy site and explaining what was actually done — and why — matters more for repeat business than speed or price. A customer who understood the work is a customer who trusts the next quote you give them without a second opinion.
Follow up once, briefly
A short message a week or two after a job asking whether everything's still holding up costs a minute of your time. It catches small issues before they turn into complaints, and it puts you back in front of the customer right when they might be thinking of the next job.
Ask for the review while the job is fresh
Reviews matched to a real, completed job are also what feeds your Ambatana score — the same nine checks that got you Hallmarked don't stop mattering after you're listed. A customer is far more likely to leave a specific, useful review right after the job than weeks later when the details have faded.
None of this replaces doing good work. It just makes sure the good work you're already doing gets remembered and acted on.
